Wills
Preparing a will is one of those tasks that people know they should do but often put it off to a later date. This might be because they do not like having to think about their death or because the fast pace of life means other things always get in the way.
Everyone should have a will and preparing a will is often more straightforward than people think. It provides peace of mind: once your will has been finalised you know your estate will be inherited by the people you want it to pass to.
Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
We never know what the future holds. Tragedy can strike at any age and leave you incapable of managing your own affairs either through physical or mental disability.
As Lasting Power of Attorney is a document that gives authority to someone else to manage your affairs for you. There are two types of LPA: one that covers property and financial decisions and one that covers health and care decisions. You can appoint more than one person to be your attorney. In the case of decisions relating to property and finances, you can choose whether the LPA should be effective immediately or only when you lose mental capacity and can longer make decisions for yourself.
In order to make an LPA a person must have mental capacity. It is therefore important not to wait until the signs of incapacity start to present themselves; by then it might be too late.

We offer appointments by telephone, video call or home visits. There is a small additional fee for home visits.
